Since its earliest years, filmmaking has progressed different paths, trying to find and to define itself as an autonomous artform. So far -apart from a few celebrated exceptions- filmmaking has been made as literature, as if it was merely reproducing illustrated texts.

Nowadays, mass entertainment -including mainstream cinema-, virtual reality, digital platforms, web pages with videos and other interactive and multimedia demonstrations, have released filmmaking from its constraints and enabled it to be developed as art in the context it deserves: time. Indeed, cinematography is the art that captures and models time in expanded visual and sound dimensions. As Tarkovsky said, filmmaking is the art of "sculpting in time".

FakeFilms, founded in 2011 in Barcelona by Homer Etminani, is an independent film production company that works in this expanded territory, exploring projects that provide for an experimentation with time.
